Best Fans, Duh!
ESPN ranks Steelers fans as best in the league. Tell me something I didn't already know.

Steeler Nation
Even if the Steelers weren't ranked #2 out of every NFL team in this fan comparison, it would still be a superb article to read. I clicked on most of the team links just to see how long each team has been sold out. It's funny to see how some of today's best teams, cough cough, not mentioning any by name, cough cough have only recently started to sell out every game. The Steelers ranking in this scoring system was 54 out of a possible 70 which tied them with first place finisher Green Bay, but we lost the tiebreaker which was how long the games have been sold out. The Steelers have sold out every game dating back to 1972 and the Packers have sold out every game dating back to 1960. Very interesting tidbits in here about each team. You have to click on each team to see their survey.
I also read over at The Burgh Blog that The Stillers won another ranking - the most popular home brand. This was in any sport, not just football. They do take a little poke at the 'Burgh in the article by saying that entertainment is somewhat limited there.

A Die Hard Steeler Fan, She Is
This girl was in the same corral as my Dad and I. She ran all 13.1 miles wearing the colors! How cool is that? I'm telling you, the finish line temperature that day was easily above 80 and there were a ton of guys shirtless and a lot of women wearing nothing but the sports bra thingies that they wear. For this girl to wear a football jersey throughout the race is crazy! I had a Nike Dri-Fit running singlet on and it was SOAKED mid-race. I don't know what she did when she ran past the Mummer band playing the Eagles fight song - but I let out a "Here We Go" chant that got a little chuckle. My Dad wanted me to do it again when the band finished the song and we were right by them, but I didn't want to get tripped so I kept my mouth shut (for once). Anway, I looked up her bib number and her name is Elizabeth Rossi from Sewickley, PA. I added her name here just incase she or someone she knows ever Googles her and sees this. I thought that would be cool. Anyway - how can you not like a 'Burgh girl running the entire half in the Fast Willie Parker jersey?

What Few NFL Teams Have

Did you ever notice how Steeler fans are just everywhere? I live on the other side of the state and I see jerseys all the time. No matter where they play, the local fans in the area buy tickets and go. I never see more than 500 fans of opposing teams when I go to a home game. Never. I went to the Colts MNF game a few yers ago with my cousin who is a Colts fan and I don't think we saw another Colts fan the entire night near us. When I first moved away from the greater Pittsburgh area I found a bar that showed the Steeler games and 30-40 Steeler fans showed up every week. There is a website dedicated to Steeler fans in different cities and lists which bars are Steeler friendly. While you might think this photo was taken in Pittsburgh or at least PA during this season, it wasn't. It's from South Carolina. You might think it was taken the day of the Super Bowl. It wasn't. It was taken the day of the Championship game against Denver. There are hardcore fans all over the country. Damn, I'm ready for the season to start! Thanks for the photo SC-Bob!
