Superb Father's Day

I hope all the fathers that read this had a good day yesterday. I know mine couldn't be beat. I woke up at 6:00 AM and got to answer some email and read a few chapters of the book I'm reading before anyone else got up. From 7:15 - 7:45 I was snug as a bug on a big cushy chair whispering back and forth with my daughter as we didn't want to wake anyone else up. We had a big pancake & fresh fruit breakfast once the rest of the house was alive and then we got ready to go to the beach. We spent several hours there before coming home for a late lunch. At this point (I think it was around 3:00 PM) I thought it might be a good idea to stretch out on the floor for a few minutes. I just had an ice cold Corona and felt a little sleepy from waking up at 4:00 AM on Saturday. It was 5:30 by the time I woke up! A nice little father's day nap! I went out to the pool for a while and then Chrissy Two Coats and I went to the fresh fish market. We grilled tuna, salmon, mahi-mahi and grouper while drinking Mint Juleps. Nice. Had the meal with margaritas. Sweet. Talked to Still A Dad for close to an hour and then watched Ron White's "They Call Me Tater Salad" over several more margaritas before calling it a night. Now if I could just get rid of this hangover.......

That’s about as good a day as anyone could have. No mention of any physical activities involving Still A Wife however. Otherwise not much else could be improved.

I had a bacon and egg sandwich on toasted rye to start my day. Then, because the simple bitches (girl dogs) thought they were at Michael Vick’s place for Father’s Day, I had a little DogWrestlemania II situation to break up. Whisper laid a preemptive ass-whipping on Mattie. But I got there before any damage was done and I forced them to make up. Who knows what goes through the female mind? I sure don’t, man nor beast.

Then we jumped into the Ford and drove to the in-laws for some swimming in the pool, relaxing in the sun, and good food. Mexican beer and cigarettes were also served. Grilled tuna and steamed shrimp to go with Chesapeake corn on the cob, and Italian sausage.

Other than getting yelled at cause there was not enough gas to get us home in my wife’s car, it was great. Capped it off by sitting in the easy chair at home watching Tiger Woods lose by one stroke at Oakmont.

Went to church and then out for breakfast. Sat around and read the Sunday paper.
Went to Uncle Bokes funeral. Grilled some salmon for dinner. Steamed some veggies. After dinner it was off to Ida's for a small ice cream cone (5 scoops, two flavors)
Talked to both kids for about an hour and then fell asleep in the chair.
And then back to work today on the sidewalk project.
