I almost forgot to post this today. I worked from home and ventured out to run some errands during lunch. Had to pick up some new running kicks as my old ones have too many miles on them, had to hit the ATM, get a HUGE fountain soda, drop off/pick up some shirts....you know, normal stuff. I get behind a car coming home and being a bumper sticker reader, looked down to read www.whyislam.org on the car in front of me. Now, driving around with a license plate that says "STLR 5SB" in Iggles country is one thing. I used to worry that someone might spit on my windshield or kick my door because of the plate....then someone pointed out to me that Iggle fans are probably too stupid to even get the reference to our 5 Super Bowls. I used to wonder why people who are caught up in polarizing things like abortion would put bumper stickers on their car identifying themselves with a side, regardless of which side they support. The only side I support is coleslaw. However, after 9/11 and all the racial profiling debates that we've endured....why, oh why would a guy who is obviously not tanning at Hollywood Tans drive around with that on his car? Granted, I live in an area where 6 guys aren't going to get out of a car with bats and go all Rod Carew on the guy or his car - but for all I know he was just passing through. Is he proud, stupid - or both? I can just see him pulling out in front of 4 good 'ole boys who thunk he should have waited until they passed......
Clem: "Jessup! Jessup, Jesus Christ are you gonna let'em get way wit that?"
Jessup: "Shut Up Ass Munch, I'm gonna ride his bumper like I rode your fat momma last night!"
Daryl: "I was with his fat momma last night, boy!"
Clem: "Shut the Faaa, HEY...looky at his bumper sticker....wazzat say?"
Bobby Joe: "Says....Why Is Lamb? Why Is Lamb What? I don't get it"
Jessup: "Bobby Joe You Stupid Son Of A Bitch...it says Why Islam?"
Clem: "Islam? ISLAM? Boy, We got us a turrst"
Daryl: "YeeeeeeeeeHOOOOOOOOOOOO let's string'em up boy!"
What the heck is that organization doing handing out bumper stickers? Are they trying to get people killed? I'm 100% sure the organization is trying to spread the word here that Islam is peaceful and help explain more about the religion so people don't feel threatened by it. Fine. But some people are going to equate that with wearing a red, white and blue "These Colors Don't Run" shirt while visiting that part of the World.
