I'm tired of two things concerning the Patriots. One, Rodney Harrison is an ass. I'm sick of him. He delivers late hits at least 10 times per game and only gets flagged for it once. I've seen the Pats play several games this year and he is constantly piling on. I also think moving forward that if you get suspended for HGH during the season, maybe you should have to sit out the playoffs. I'm just really tired of him. Two - can we stop the nonsense of calling this the greatest team in history? Every promo or intro concerning them mentions it. When you think about it, the only reason people say that is because they were undefeated. They are basing everything on their win/loss record. What if the Eagles had finished them off? There have been plenty of one loss teams. Are we then saying they are the greatest team ever because they held on to beat the Eagles? Need I remind anyone with a sense of football history (today's announcers think the NFL standard for defense started with the 2000 Ravens) that the 1976 Steelers sent 8 of their 11 defensive starters to the Pro Bowl? That's unheard of. That team also has how many Hall Of Famers on it? Nine, not including the Coach, Owner and President of the team at the time. How many Patriots on this team have a shot at the Hall Of Fame? The answer is two. Tom Brady is a given. Randy Moss most likely will, but he is one event with the law away from maybe being blackballed. The 1976 Steelers had 4 shutouts in the last 9 games and 3 of them were back-to-back-to-back, going 15 quarters without giving up a single point! Also, their Hall Of Fame QB was injured and they were playing with a backup for a lot of the season and that may be why both Franco Harris and Rocky Bleier went over 1,000 yards. In the games that weren't shutouts they gave up so few points that they averaged 3 points a game over the last 9. They didn't win it all that year due to injuries, but Dan Rooney considers the 1976 Steelers the best team he ever fielded. In the AFC Championship game they were without BOTH of their 1,000 yard rushers (in 14 games remember). The 2007 Patriots are a superb team, hands down. Best team ever? I don't think so. That's a big 'ole statement to make and back up.

The entire Patriots TEAM are asses...and so is their coach;-) As much as I hate them I will have to admit it is the greatest OFFENSE I've ever seen. But greatest TEAM ever? Uh...no. The '85 Bears were much more dominant. And so were some of the Steeler teams of the 1970's.
The Patriots defense is old and average but their offense is so explosive that it makes their defense look better than they actually are.
Only one way the Patriots are gonna lose this year...you have to match them punch-for-punch on offense then at some point late in the game you must make a stop on defense. Either make them punt or force a turnover. No one is going to shut New England's offense down for four quarters. All you can do is contain them. They've just got too many weapons. Several teams this season have matched the Patriots punch-for-punch in scoring points up until the 4th quarter but failed to stop the New England offense when the game was on the line. At some point late in the game your defense is going to have to rise up and stop Brady and Company or they will continue to win.
Another thing to consider when people say the Patriots are the greatest team ever...the rules now are so different as compared to the 70's. The rules benefit the offenses and passing game now and all Quarterbacks are pampered! Was a much tougher and more physical game in previous years!
The 1976 Steelers were the BEST team I ever saw. They were not world champions. They did not go undefeated. But they were by far the best football team that ever set foot on a gridiron.
The best team does not always win.
Therefore, just because the Patriots win they are not necessarily the best team... although New Englanders and idiot sports journalists with newspapers, magazines and air time to sell would have you think it so.
