Wanted: Guest Writer

Being that Still A Dog is the biggest lover of dogs I know, I'm going to ask him to write a post on this. I can't wait to read it.

First off, I read the entire text of the indictment this afternoon. All 18 or 19 pages of it in .pdf format. What is described in the above link accurately summarizes it.

Secondly, I have never been a fan of Michael Vick. I won big money betting against him and VT vs. Florida State in the National Championship game a few years back.

So then, let's start out with the betting angle, shall we? Vick was in dog fighting for entertainment and gambling/money making. Why on earth a man making the kind of money he's pulling down delights in the cruelty and suffering of the most loyal animal God ever created is alarming. He don't need the God-Damn money OK? He is a sick mother and needs to be put away on general principles for being this psychotic in the first place. Goodell needs to kick his sexually-transmitted-diseased ass out of the NFL pronto, just for the gambling.

Psychotic angle: You look at the serial killers and other psychotic high profile criminals of our time. What did they all have in common? Cruelty to animals. Vick belongs right there next to Jeffrey Dahmer and David Berkowitz.

The "I wasn't there" defense: With all his millions of dollars Vick will mount a defense based around ignorance of what transpired at his Moonlight Drive property. Well, may I remind you that Charles Manson was not present when any of Sharon Tate, Abagail Folger, nor the LaBianca's were killed and he's still doing time for their murders.

It's a racial cultural thing: Vick will say (and Jesse Jackson and Al Sharpton will back him to the hilt) that in the South among African Americans, dog fighting is a normal everyday thing and part of his "culture." This is of course absurd. But should you choose to buy into this theory in defense of Vick, I would remind you that in the South it is also part of the culture to lynch men of Vick's ethnic background for crimes far less than what he is being charged.

What is the price of a dog's life? In much of America dogs are revered as the preeminent family pet. Treated like family (the royal family in some cases) they have become a moral stabilizing ground for a society that increasingly gravitates toward anti-socialism. To my way of thinking there is very little difference between a human life and a dogs life. Perhaps this is because all my dogs perceive themselves as, and thus act as though they are, just like me, human. If Vick killed or ordered the killing of 8+ dogs then he should serve 8+ life sentences in the shittiest hell-hole of incarceration in the USA.

Some say his penalty should be caged and attacked by the pit bulls he trained to kill. But unfortunately all 60 of them were euthanized because not a single one could have made a pet they were either in such damaged health or damaged psyche. So...

I recommend burning his heartless ass at the stake. Not no big bonfire burn-him-alive kind of burning at the stake either. I'm talking about a slow one cigarette burn at a time kind of burn until he finally combusts. Then and only then will he feel the kind of cruelty he has exacted upon man's best friend countless times.

There are three kinds of beings that need protection. Children, the elderly, and animals. They are the defenseless ones. Vick and his buddies took delight and money from torturing the defenseless animals.

We let OJ get away with 2 dead people. We have a chance now to make Michael Vick and his thug entourage pay for what he has done. Vindication for the dogs cannot begin soon enough.

Follow-Up: I was wrong about Al Sharpton, he's come out against Vick.

More importantly, the senior senator from West Virginia and, in fact, the whole rest of the Senat too, Sen. Byrd (Let's Goooooooo, Mountaineers) agrees with stilladog on this one too by saying the hottest places in Hell are reserved for Vick and the like.

Also, Dick's Sporting Goods is pulling all Mike Vick merchandise off the shelves and Eastbay is liquidating Vick jerseys at the fire sale ratio of 61% off!
