Patriots: Beatable

No, that picture isn't a sighting of the elusive Bigfoot. It is however, a sighting of some sorts. The Patriots are now in sight for every team left on it's schedule. If you listened to the talking heads leading up to the Eagles game last night, they had no shot, no chance in the world to win. Peter King is the one leading the trumpets. You may as well not even play the games - to him, it's not about who will beat them, just about who will give them a good game. Everyone laughed last night and basically called the game an exhibition. To Costas and smarmy Olbermann, the "exhibition season continues tonight....". All the sports writers are trying to outdo themselves with superlatives when talking about the Pats. It's insane. Can we stop the nonsense now? This is the NFL. On any given Sunday, somebody that was supposed to win, loses. I know they're good, Chrissy Twocoats, and they are playing better than any team in the league so far this season....but I'm not ready to crown them SB champs yet let alone the best team that ever stepped onto the field. The injury bug has bitten the Colts, could the Pats be next? They barely beat a team with a losing record, my God, the league has never seen a team like this before! Give me a break.....and I don't care if it's Tom's leg or Randy's.

My Christmas Wish (besides the Steelers kicking butt for the remainder of the season) -
The Pats win EVERY game of the regular season and lose in the first round of the playoffs.
I will sooo drink to that!

It was a dogfight, and it also was about the best thing to happen to the Pats given all the hype that’s been heaped on them the last few weeks.

Finally, Bill Belichick can force-feed some humble pie on this team (with a second helping for the AWFUL LB play).

Patriot fans should thank the Eagles for this game. It will be the game that knocks some reality in that team, and sharpens their knives for the playoffs.

Here's hoping that that other Pennsylvania team can make a game of it as well, and don't play like they did against GangGreen.

i just read peter king's mmqb on si.com

he was talking about the game last night and how good AJ Feeley played against "the team of the decade".

"the team of the decade". let that sink in. aren't there 5 games to go?

Six out of seven Division crowns.
Three superbowl rings (and one completion to Reche Caldwell away from going to a 4th)
On pace this year to destroy nearly every offensive record.

I would say that qualifies as "the Team of the Decade".

No other team has come close to that level of consistency over the last 7 years.

i think from reading his article he was talking about "this particular" pats team, not the collective teams since 2000. no doubt they have the most success so far, but there are still a few bowls left in this decade. also, the team today doesnt look that much like the team that won the first bowl. its not like the steelers dynasty that won 4 of 6, mostly with the same exact players.

If the Steelers can stop Tom and Randy then they deserve to win and I will say congradulations. Until then GO PATS!

Ugh. I hate all this talk about a perfect season when there are still so many games to go. And it's been happening for more than a month. They shouldn't talk about it until they're about 13-0. MAYBE you talk about it then. It's kind of like in baseball when you don't start talking about a no-hitter until at least the 6th or 7th inning.
