The Fan Family is off to The Bahamas tomorrow morning via Manhattan Cruise Terminal.
I'll be doing a little thinking while I'm there. I'm thinking our little site here may have run it's course. Even though we get a decent number of hits every day, a certain percentage is for images (like this beautiful Bahamas Beach) and some people stop in multiple times a day if we haven't posted.
I'm tired. Still A Stroke swims both summer and winter competitively and it's time consuming and during the 3 month break between swim I coach her volleyball team. I don't know if Dog is as tired as I am, but if we're only slightly entertaining 15 people instead of 60, it might be time to hang 'em up and just comment the shit out of That's Church, Darwinfish2 and Carpetbaggery. Maybe I'll finally join Facebook. Who knows.
Dog, whatchoo think?
By reading the numbers we do really well some days with people who come and stay and found us from a google search for an article, not for the image, but they are far less than when we posted a few times a day.
Leave us a comment....what do you think? No mercy "bangs". And I'll look at the IP addresses to see if anybody is stuffing the ballot box! Still A While...are you still out there?

Well, you know I hit every post, and I'd be sad to see you go. (Picture raiders bug me too, btw)
But how bad can your traffic really be? Hell, you've got about 5 times the hits on your counter than I do...
Maybe I'm just the poster child for lowered expectations.
Perhaps a short sabbatical is in order... recharge your batteries and redevelop your will to blog...
I would sure miss you during football season when I look forward to your posts.
I found you via That's Church so if you could have some input there that would help a little.
Don't underestimate your contribution to those of us who read you regularly.
Best of luck to you no matter what you decide.
I think you should keep at it - football season is here! But - maybe before you decide try facebook out....and see if you get any satisfaction there. Personally I like it.
And of course I am still here!
Have fun on vacation. We just got back on Friday so I have vacation depression..........and the kids start school on thursday......I need a drink. bad!
I say keep it. But someday you may have to reconsider.

Looking for more comments.
I was hired on to supplement Fan's posts and I have my moments. So while I'm not as tired of it as he seems to be, I'm not going to have commentary nearly as often.
I don't find the mundane (cockroaches in the bathroom at work etc.) nearly as post-worthy. I probably skip over other things that I could post about because I don't think anyone would find them interesting. And I don't need a soapbox for my political views. This administration sucks balls and the last one sucked ass, BFD. Perhaps I am wrong.
I'm thinking maybe I should do more of what Bluz does, and that's re-tell stories from the past. My life sure was more interesting back in the day. I do have some crazy stories to tell. Don't want to make the site a bunch of posts by an old geezer reminiscing about the good old days but you guys who read us tell me if that's OK, please. We already got The Early Days series running.
Regardless, more comments are welcomed. Because if we know somebody is getting something out of our craziness we're more likely to keep it rolling.
And don't worry, more football posts coming up.
I love hearing the stories. By the way - just started a book "Shit my dad Says" by halpern.....freaking hilarious
for example:
ON ACCIDENTALLY EATING DOG TREATS:
"Snausages: I've been eating dog treats? Why the fuck would you put them on the counter where the rest of the food is? Fuck it, they're delicious. I will not be shamed by this."
That's funny, While. I had a dog named Satch who loved fruits & vegetables.
Satch's corrolary is called Accidentally Eating Peaches. "Peaches? Why doesn't he just feed me the damn things as a snack. He knows I'm going to steal them off the counter anyway. Fuck. Where can I hide this pit?"
My dog hasn't found a food he doesn't like.
And I like hearing the stories you guys tell.
I'm still learning about things you did that we parents never knew.
Well, old Satchie finally got his wish. One day I stopped at a roadside fruit market and bought half a peck of peaches. Satch was was in the car with me and I just reached in the bag and gave him one. The lady at the roadside stand was appalled!
Me and Satch both had a good laugh over that one. He loved peaches. And bosc pears were another of his favorites.
He was fun to have around if you were cutting up vegetables for a stew or salad. If anything hit the floor, it was his.
These two bitches I have now go wild for carrots and peppers but they spit out celery after a few crunches. They're pretty ambivalent about cabbage too. Satch would eat it all and ask questions later.
I like reading your stories....gives me a view other than my 70-some perspective on some things.
Keep it up, it's nice to have a laugh with others who are sharing the same thoughts. by the way my dog only hate celery too, all others he eats. Still An UNC
Keep it up! I like reading the old stories too, except for when they include photos of me! :) I don't really pay much attention to a lot of the football stuff, because I don't follow it nearly as closely as y'all. But I do like bugging you about Tom Brady.
I recently came across your blog and have been reading along. I thought I would leave my first comment. I don't know what to say except that I have enjoyed reading. Nice blog. I will keep visiting this blog very often.
