FAN: Inventions

Why is it that we can put a man on the moon, but we can't make a fountain soda dispenser that doesn't spray syrup and water like we're trying to reach the far corners of our lawn with it? The damn things also continue to run far too long after releasing the dispense lever! The easy answer is to not use them, but my God man, build a better freaking mousetrap!
