Wow. It was good to see ZZ Top live. I haven't seen any of them since I saw Billy join Kid Rock on another special several years ago. They were tight....and looking a little old. Cook's voice fit that song to perfection and I'm glad the boys let him sing it, although I think they should have traded verses. My thoughts on tonight's show - the Jimmy Kimmel thing was as unfunny tonight as it was funny for Idol Gives Back. He bombed. What's with Amanda? Look happy much? Crazy bitch. I didn't miss her not one little bit. Not even a little. Didn't miss Hernandez either. I've known scores of dudes like him...and didn't like any of them either. What a freakin' poser he is. Brook White is cool.....singing folk acoustic with Mr. Nash. Well played. I'm glad Archuleta Sr. is going home with a loss. Ass Hat. How do you get thrown out of an American Idol broadcast and a Star Search Episode? Stage Dad Much? George Michaels is starting to look a little bit creepy. I remember when his voice was a powerhouse and he was tagged as the only star who could sing several of the Queen songs for the concert at Wembley. These huge sunglasses just make everyone look like hornets. Mad hornets. Mad creepy hornets that pay for gay sex in bathroom stalls. Still, the worst part of any show continues to be the lame group numbers. They really need to stop doing that. Anyway, I hope DC decides to put Hello on his first CD. Carrie Underwood...wow....just ....wow. I might have to take my princess to one of her concerts. The Jack Black, Ben Stiller piece was good. True comedians making people laugh without even talking. I had no idea that was Robert Downey Jr until Ryan said it was. I guess I didn't recognize him without the crack pipe hanging from his lips.

I was shocked Cook won. I can't say he didn't deserve to win, it's just that I expected the teen crowd to vote Archuleta to a easy victory. Guess you never know! Did anybody besides me find it odd that in many of the pre-shows the judges kept saying it was gonna be closer than they thought at first? Do they know ahead of time who is going to win? At times I've felt maybe Idol was rigged but Cook's win last night makes me feel it's not. Because in terms of business for Idol I'd figure Archuleta winning would've been much more profitable for the show. They could have promoted him as teen idol like Hannah Montana. Something they've never had before. I'm sure both Davids will be very successful. Have to say congrats to Cook. Now go make a rocking killer CD!!
Some other thoughts:
I also found it odd ZZ Top didn't take any vocals during the song. Still cool though...
Brooke was great and is adorable. My favorite of the entire season. She will have success in the singer-songwriter vein...Yes the group numbers suck. Carly was screaming and Amanda looks SOOOO uncomfortable dancing...George Michael was the big surprise? A washed up has-been from the 80's? I thought Idol could've done much better and brought in a bigger and more legendary performer. I keep waiting for Michael Jackson or Paul McCartney to be on a Idol finale. Every year there are rumors they are going to show up and it never happens.
P.S. Carrie looked hot. Romo messed up again;-)
Forgot to add that Bryan Adams performance was very cool!
I was shocked he won as well but very very happy that he did.
I just hope they let him have some say in his album. The way he would re-work the songs he did made the show.
I thought George Michael looked scary as hell but he did sound good I thought.
Brooke did wonderful.
Amanda is a super-freak.
They should toss her out of the concert tour - why should she be there? She will scare all the little kids.
95% of the time I totally agree with Simon's comments but I don't think he should have been so one sided during Tuesdays show. Then when he said he was wrongabout David Cooks performances I was pretty mad! All's well that ends well I guess but keep your mouth shut during the finale - especially when the contestants are both very good.
The masses of asses have (finally) been vindicated.
All Hail the new American Dildo.
Long live the pre-scripted pre-determined champion.
Unreality shows forever!!

After observing the insatiable insanity surrounding this show I now completely understand how an artist like Kenny Chesney can become filthy rich and Entertainer of the Year.
Everybody knows I hate Amercian Idol. And I kept out of it after I annoyed everbody with the truth. So now that it's over (praise the Lord) I got one question for you:
David Cook or R.L. Burnside, which one is the real deal and which one is a Hollywood facade?
Naahh, I didn't watch it. I opted for watching young African Americans and a few fellows with green cards run up and down a hardwood floor in their underwear putting a ball through a hoop of steel. Good chance that was pre-scripted too.
