Benny dodged a big fat bullet today. He's lucky his fat ass isn't going on trial...criminal trial.
I don't think he followed that gril to the restroom unannounced and pounced on her against her will.
I also think somewhere in the back of my head that something he did while in the restroom was probably way out of line - but not illegal. I don't even know what that means really.....but it's somewhere in the middle. Something along the lines of what Dog first raised. They started doing something consentual, he wanted more or "freakier", she didn't, he got pissed....verbally abused her....she felt cheap and used.....
I want these idiots acting like choir boys this year. I'm really getting sick of it. The only thing bringing back my interest in baseball is the Phillies rise to prominence and even that isn't enough to make me watch anywhere near regularly. Stroke and I have 11th row seats on the first base side Wednesday night so that's the first game I'll see this year. I swear if much more happens to the Steelers players - or should I say if the players continue to DO things - I'm out. I'll take my expendable income and spend it elsewhere. My NFL ticket package. My yearly pilgrimage with Stilladog to a game. My jerseys. My autographs. My dollies, er I mean my bobbleheads. I'll chuck it all and read more books.
A friend of mine at work who is a huge hockey fan made a good point today about Holmes. He said people like Holmes just take a spot at a college that a real student deserved and for what? It seems like every day on the si.com NFL blotter there is a player in trouble. Why not in hockey? Maybe the money is just too out of control for these thugs to handle. I know one thing right now. Write it down.....20 years from now in 2030, I will have more net worth than Santonio Holmes. When he signs his new deal it will be in the area of 5-7 million per year and it could have been much higher without the antics. My household makes less than 5% of that a year. I know in my BONES I will have more than him in 20 years. I know it.

I'm thinking it was the incessant steroid talk in baseball that first alienated me from the game. Now it's just boring.
As for football, I am trying to avoid going down the same path.
Now Goodell is pussifiying the league with rule changes so that I can hardly watch it anymore. Between the pussification/Disnification (it's all a fantasy boys & girls) of the NFL and the players constantly on the police blotters of America it's a slippery slope.
Not like I don't have firewood to cut for next winter or something new to try on the grill.
I agree. I don't think he will ever be completely out from under this. He only spoke for about 80 seconds and all of it just sounded like bullshit to me. And seriously - what is up with the hair? Now he looks like a child molester as well as a perv.
Time will tell I guess. Waiting to see if he is suspended any games. I am just sick of it all.
Hockey players haven't been choir boys, either, (See Staal brothers, Danny Heatley, and Patrick Kane) but their track record is certainly much better than the NFL. Actually, other than PEDs, baseball players seem to behave.
Can't tell you how unexcited I am to root for the Steelers this year. Things may change by August, but right now I'd root for Ben to get nailed from the blind side as hard as I'd root for a TD.
Ben Roethlisberger is a great player, but he really needs to be more careful with his off-field behavior. This latest incident has caused a great deal of embarrassment to the Steelers organization and the NFL, and he really needs to work hard to regain the respect of fans. Even though he wasn’t charged with anything, I think commissioner Goodell needs to suspend him for a game or two in order to ensure that he won’t have a serious lapse of judgment ever again.
