A Linebacking Punter!

Interesting. Here's the punter we needed. Best punter in college football history and he used to be a linebacker. He should be fun to watch on coverage. Daniel Sepulveda, welcome aboard. What the heck....do we not NEED a young offensive lineman????

I'll reserve judgement on Sepulveda until I see his foot meet a pigskin. Not a bad pick actually.

But this reminded of one of my favorite players when I was first learning about football, Yale Lary of the Detroit Lions.

I only caught him at the end of his career. But what a player he must have been. Punter, Defensive Back, and Kick Returner.

Check him out at:

I neglected to mention --cause at 5:45 yesterday I had just come in from an afternoon of planting replacment shrubbery and smoking 3 lbs of salmon so I didn't see any TV-- that the guy I mentioned as Punter, Adam Podlesh of Maryland was already off the board when Sepulveda was chosen. Taken at #101 earlier in the 4th round by Jacksonville.

I think this was Tomlin's guy all along anyway. He came in for a visit and I guess impressed everybody. I hope he's impressive on Sundays in the fall.
