FAN: Yeah, I Said "Playoffs"

I know, I know, I know.....you need your football fix. I'm sorry. Bad week at work for that. Maybe I'll explain later, maybe I won't. Anyway, I thought The D, O double G would be filling the football need but he must be up to no good as well. So, anyway, what are my thoughts on the upcoming game? Well, here goes - I think we're going to win. I think we're going to win, but it's going to be as close as the last game. Philip Rivers is much more confident than the last time we saw him and they have a new shiny weapon in Sproles. True, we won't see much of LT if at all, but Sproles is a much shiftier back. While we plug the middle and run side to side well - if this dude finds a little crevice - Troy will have to hunt him down or it could be six. I'd like to say we have a coaching advantage, but I'm not sure if we do. Norv is usually a MUTT in the playoffs, but he does have much more big game experience than Tomlin. Normally I would say Norv will choke - but he didn't against a very hot Colts team. I'm hoping the difference in this game will be our defense scoring. I think we can score enough points to win, and I think our defense can hold them to one point less. I hope Dick pins their ears back and goes after Rivers early and often. I'd like to see him get rattled and have a few 3 and outs in the first quarter. We'll see. Hopefully we'll both get a chance to wax poetic about a defensive struggle with either the Titans or Ravens. I would much rather play the Titans, but let's get past San Diego first. A new football word for the lexicon:

Norvally: according to a rule, general custom associated with losing big games. exp - They norvally lose in the playoffs.

Look for Marcus McNeil to get help from a TE and/or RB on passing downs against Silverback... after the way Dwight Freeney took him to school and stole his lunch money last weekend. Should open things up for Woodley on the other side.

LT is out. Sproules is more dangerous but doesn't have the overall skills of LT. Normally I'd say he's more dangerous on kick returns but we've been playing well there too lately. Colts D is soft. They got pushed around. Steelers will not go down as easily. Holes for Sproules will be few and far between.

Norv Turner is not a great football coach but he's not Marty Schottenheimer either. As the saying goes: "Having an encyclopedic knowledge of football does not make one a good football coach... it makes one Norv Turner."

Sorry about no posts. Having a hard time getting an angle on this game. I think we'll win but the Chargers are no pushovers. Pray for nasty weather in Heinz on Sunday. That should give us an edge. It's always good to have the pretty boys from Southern California come up to Western PA in January for a game.

I'm more confident. I see the Steelers winning big. I don't feel Sproles is gonna be able to duplicate his performance against the Colts or even come close to doing that against our defense. Willie needed a good game to get out of his slump. He got it. I think our defense was a little tired mentally the last few weeks of the season too but now we are rested and ready! Ben will do just fine. Steelers 24, Chargers, 10. Bring on Tennessee or Baltimore!

Still A. While said...

I said a month ago I dont want to play these guys..........
I hope that doesn't come back to bite me in the butt.
Ben will either be on his game or completely off.
Keeping my fingers crossed.
