Brooks Hurts Chances Of Returning

Barret Brooks really hurt his chances of making the roster this weekend. The crime? Read it here. Guys like Brooks are on the bubble anyway. He's been in the league something like 12 years so his contract can't be small. For a backup lineman, since we have no pressing needs, a player with less experience is much cheaper. We have enough veteran experience to not miss the likes of a Barret Brooks. 'Nuff said.

Say good-bye to Fat Barret the "Turnstile Tackle." By most accounts (except the cops) a nice fellow and by all accounts a shitty NFL Lineman.

With the emergence of Willie Colon he was a goner anyway. This motorcycle incident just speeds his departure.

Maybe he can latch on with the Bengals? You got to have a police record before they even consider you.

Scott Paulsen says:

Dateline, Cincinnati, All right, Steelers! It's time to start working harder! The Bengals have now increased their lead in “players arrested in the off-season” to 6 to 3. Bengals guard Eric Steinbach became the sixth individual wearing growly stripes to be fingerprinted during this off-season after he was charged with “boating under the influence”. And as you drunken sailors know, you have to be pretty darned crushed to get a charge of drinking and boating. Steinbach failed a series of field sobriety tests, including the one in which officers asked who would win Super Bowl XLI this season. He kept answering “the Bengals”. Obviously drunk. Steinbach joins teammates Chris Henry, Frostee Rucker, A.J. Nicholson, Matthias Askew and Odell Thurman on the Cincy Mugshot Parade. The Steelers? Lagging behind, although it's still early. So far, only one “domestic beating of my baby's Momma” from the draft pick and two “unable to operate on two wheels” from the veterans. Let's get working, boys.

Just curious... How do you administer a "field" sobriety test on the water?
