Say It Ain't So, Bill
Oh My. Read This. I was going to be able to handle Bill Cowher leaving the Steelers to sit in North Carolina and watch his daughters play some basketball. I figured he'd do that until the youngest is out of college and then come back out of retirement to the highest bidder. I would have wished him well in that case. If he leaves the Steelers and then negotiates to coach another team in 2007, it will change my opinion drastically. That means it's all about the Benjamins, baby. Didn't Jerome Bettis take less money to remain a Steeler three times during his career? After his first contract, the Redskins offered him more but he stayed. He then took massive paycuts to remain in the black and gold his last two seasons. I guess Coach Cowher gets frustrated when he sees these idiots like Nick Saban and Steve Spurrier walk right in with no NFL experience and make more money than him when he has been there 15 years and has had the kind of success that he has. I'll grant him that, but he's a homeboy and he's banked millions upon millions anyway. Unlike his players, he doesn't have a $4 million dollar home and a tricked out Hummer for every day of the week. If the Rooney family was offering $5 million and he leaves for $8, I will still appreciate all he has done for the team....but "The Chin" will leave a sour taste on my tongue. Can you imagine the love affair with the city if he stayed for less dough? The second the Rooneys had the new stadium they started paying bonuses big enough to keep the core players that they used to lose in Cowher's early days. How he could walk with his first ever franchise quarterback entering his prime years is beyond me. In Miami, he'd be starting out with the same old quaterbacking problems he's had here for 12 years. I guess we'll have to wait to see what develops.

I ain't takin' credit for this cause it was on Fox Sports dot com. But this cuts through the shit like a chainsaw.
There's an old divorce joke that goes like this … "The next time I feel like getting married, I'm just going to go find a woman I hate and buy her a house."
While funny, you have to admit it would save a lot of time. Well everyone's been speculating about this being Cowher's last year with the Steelers, that he is moving to North Carolina, down to that 2.3 million dollar house he just built.
WRONG! He did build the house all right. For his wife and kids. I doubt he'll ever live there because they're not living together. THEY'RE SEPARATED!!!!
Think a bit. I can't recall seeing Kay Cowher's perky face in the stands for quite some time now. That used to be one of those things the whole country was sick of -- like Brady Quinn's hot sister being shown in the stands with that worried, loving look on her face.
Kay and the kids were a weekly feature. Then came the first rumors of trouble during the Kordell Stewart years. Kay and the kids dropped off the screen, never to return even during the Super Bowl run last winter. So now, the kids are just about all in college, and what do you know? There's a nice big house for them close to school. Sounds like the old "stay together for the sake of the kids" play to me.
"What does that have to do with the contract," you might ask? In Pennsylvania, assets accumulated during the marriage (or separation) are divided evenly. If Bill signs a seven-figure extension now, Kay gets half. If she moves out and takes the new house, a cash settlement, a few cars, retirement, child support, and half of the estate, she doesn’t.
Would YOU want a big new contract if you knew you'd have to give half of it to someone who hates your guts? Is this all speculation on my part? Yes. But I've been told the separation is a matter of public record.
We'll see in due time. Sooner or later I think this will play out pretty much like it looks.
i thought the entire family was hugging on the sidelines after the game and she definitely up on the makeshift podium with him after the game during the trophy presentation. in this day and age, public figures can't even fart without it making the news - i'd be a little surprised if it played out like that...but i never say never.
That was the Super Bowl. She was probably paid by the network to be there for the photo op.
You ever see her at any other games? For several years? NO. In fact you haven't seen her much since the rumor in the late 90s of The Chin's infidelity with a secretary/Kordell's sister/just some black ho/whatever.
You ever see Belichecks wife? Nope. Know why? Cause he's hitting something else too! But that's beyond rumor and is documented fact.
Kaye is the one from North Carolina, not Bill. His whole family still lives in W. PA. Two of his kids are going to school in New Jersey. So why would he want to live there? I bet he only visits there to see his youngest daughter.
Bottom line here is: If I he isn't divorced in a year and is living in Raleigh, and I was John Fox, I'd have the Panthers in the 2008 Super Bowl. If he gets his divorce and doesn't move to Raleigh then he'll be the hottest coaching prospect out there this time next year.
