Well, your new Steelers head coach will not be one Ken Whisenhunt who accepted a 4 year contract with an option for a fifth year with the Arizona Cardinals. I really like Ken and I hope he does well there, but come on. How many times do we need to be fooled by this team in the preseason? How many times in the last 10 years have you heard pundits gush over this team and pick them to make the playoffs? I'm glad he got a head coaching position as it stregthens the roots on the Cowher coaching tree - but this franchise is doomed. It's like a curse has been placed on it. I'm also starting to wonder what's taking the Steelers so long to announce Russ Grimm if he is indeed their first choice? If he isn't, who are they going to surprise us with?

It's either come down to $$ with Grimm, or the new man is going to be Rivera from the Bears. No other reasons I can see to delay the announcement of our new head coach other than these.
Good luck to Ken in AZ. Grimm may have been a better choice for the Cards. All they need are some HOGS on the O-line. They got QBs (Warner & Leinhart), WRs (Boldin & Fitzgerald) and a decent RB ( Edge James). But nobody to block. We shall see...

Oh my God, NOOOO! Not Bill Cowher's grandfather, Marty Schittenheimer.
Marty is a W. PA boy but he's done nothing but shit the bed in the playoffs with superior teams(much like his disciple, Cowher). Witness yesterday's game as evidence.
Marty's post season record is like 5-13. Most wins of any coach NEVER to coach in the Super Bowl. So if you never want another Super Bowl ring, hire Marty.
i wasnt even going to dignify the marty comment. there is no way the rooney family would hire him. you have to have some tread on your tires. noll nor cowher had any head coaching experienced when plucked. that's why i'm hoping....nay praying...that neither sherman or gailey has a prayer.
Rumor here is that Russ is the front-runner and will be announced by Friday.
I can't believe that Marty will get a job anywhere else with his 5-13 record. I think that if/when he gets canned from the chargers, his nfl coaching days are done. Has he ever coached college? Maybe someone there would grab him...
