Let's make a push. One of the reasons I invited Stilladog to write articles at will was because I was getting a little bored with the site. My posts slowed down as I got busy and like Dog said - I was a little lite on Steelers commentary even when I did post. Well, with the men of steel winning the first 3 of an insane 4 game stretch, now we can't shut up about them! What we witnessed Sunday at 7:00 PM could be considered "The Drive" of Pittsburgh nomenclature...Denver can Suck It. What I'm suggesting is more debate...more commentary...and not just from the locals. Let's see if we can set a new daily norm for readers and sustain it. If you read The Slant periodically and think your friends might enjoy it - send them the link. If you have a site of your own - add us. We'll shamelessly plug you as well. Let's get every Yinzer we know involved in a good 'ole Steeler Football roundtable where we can bitch, moan, brag and praise our favorite passtime. And like I said, if you want to guest post (Still A While!) write something up and send it to me. We'd love to have some different voices participating.

I got people in Texas who at least read the site now. I don't think they like me making fun of their QB none too much though.
But I bet they'll like what I have to say later this week as I become a huge Cowgirls fan for a few days. Dallas plays Baltimore in the last game at old Texas Stadium on Saturday Night. Stay tuned folks, I promise a top notch photo to go with the post too!
Can we start with how the refs seem to be a part of Steeler Nation? Methinks those are Terrible Towels in their pockets! Or, how about discussing Big Ben having more turnovers than Charlie Weiss? There are a couple topics to chew on! Oh, Phil Simms said we should not look at Big Ben's stats. Good call.

Still A. While is right. You can't call people assholes when they comment if you want to increase readership.
Look at that post. There was no need to call that guy an asshole. All you had to do was read what he wrote to figure that out.
First off he has no concept of the power of the Terrible Towel. Why the hell does he think all those people wave them? Hell yeah they get calls to go our way. They put the whammy on opponents and bring us luck. People who say the Steelers are lucky don't undertand, it's the towels. Some days they are more powerful than others. But the Steelers without Terrible Towels are like Sampson with a buzzcut.
I am pretty sure Charlie Weiss eats his turnovers. So that comparison is just dumb.
And Phil Simms? Whoever listens to any of the knuckleheads, including Simms, the various networks put on our TV screens to tell us all we don't know about the NFL is incapable of an original thought anyway.
But I'm still glad he posted.
