Finally! My New Plate Arrived

I'm not a huge fan of bumper stickers. True, some of them are very funny and clever - but I have more respect for my car than to put stickers on it. If you want to say something about yourself while driving - put it on your plate. There is only a one-time fee of $20 in PA. I had a plate made up in the early 90's that said "ONAMSSN" for "On a Mission". I had it for several reasons. First it kind of decribed me as being 110% straight ahead most of the time. I have to be doing something, always. It was in one of my favorite movies 'The Blues Brothers' and it was a lyric in one of my favorite Old Skewl hip hop songs - 'It Takes Two'. As the Super Bowl approached in February, I started to think about plates I could get if the Steelers won. I figured most clever Steeler plates were probably already in existense. You only get to list 3 choices and I didn't want to go back and forth for months waiting to see if what I requested was already in use. So, I incorporated the 5th Super Bowl win into the plate, filled out the form and sent it in the Monday after the big game. When my check cleared I knew I got one of my 3 choices which were "STLR 5SB", "STLR5SB" and "5SB STLR". In PA you only get 7 continuous characters or 8 with a space or hyphen. On a completely different note, I like to try to figure out plates when I see them. I passed an average looking guy in his mid 40's on my way to work on Friday with a plate that read "I RECYCL". Wow! This guy wants to tell the world one thing about himself and he chose the fact that he recycles. Nice. It may as well of said "IMA DORK". I'm not ragging on folks who recycle, I'm ragging on folks who choose things like "SAVEWATR", "VEGAN" or "NOABORT".
